Precautions for negative plate of high-frequency electric knife

Release date:2023-03-11

Selection of placement position of negative plate:

① Unsuitable parts: bony bulges, scars, skin wrinkles, thick adipose tissue or fat, epidermis, weight-bearing parts, parts where liquid may accumulate, metal grafts or near pacemakers.

② Suitable parts: easily observed parts, flat muscle areas, shaved skin, clean and dry skin, and the negative electrode plate should be more than 15cm away from the ECG electrode; Try to be close to the surgical incision site to reduce the current loop, but first consider the ideal adhesive sites, such as lower leg, inner and outer thigh, hip, waist, back, abdomen, upper limb; Try to avoid the current loop passing through the graft, pacemaker, ECG electrode, heart and other parts; The long side of the negative plate is perpendicular to the direction of high-frequency current.

③ Negative plate for infants: select flat muscle areas such as thigh, back and abdomen. Children under 15 kg should choose negative plate for infants.

6. Precautions for use of disposable flexible negative plate:

① It shall be kept flat, and cutting and folding are prohibited.

② One-time use, no reuse: after use, the conductive adhesive on the surface of the negative electrode plate will change its physical and chemical properties, lead to poor conductivity, reduce safety performance, and increase the possibility of burns to patients. At the same time, the negative plate after use may contain bacteria, HIV, HBV, etc., or the dandruff of patients with skin diseases. The same negative plate may cause cross infection if used repeatedly between different patients.

③ When removing the negative plate, slowly remove it from the edge along the direction of the dermatoglyph to avoid mechanical damage caused by excessive speed and force.

7. Attention during use: remove the eschar on the electric knife head in time to maintain good conduction function. It is forbidden to scratch the surface of the electric knife head with a sharp tool, and use a special electric knife or wet saline gauze to wipe it; When the electric knife is not used for the time being, it should be placed in an insulated container. Do not place it on the part that hinders the operation of the doctor and the exposed body surface of the patient to avoid causing burns to the medical staff and patients.

8. Patients with cardiac pacemakers should not use high-frequency monopole electric knife.

9. In the process of use, the patient's limbs should not be in direct contact with the metal. An insulating layer with a thickness of at least 4 cm should be kept between the patient and the metal bed. If necessary, the limbs can be fixed with cloth and hand support plate.

10. The electric knife and pencil are disposable items, which shall be destroyed after use.
