What is FPC mold?

Recently, many customers asked me, what does FPC mold include? And why do we need to open the mold? How many types of molds are there for FPC? How to select the right mold for FPC? Today, let's learn about FPC molds. The FPC die is always used to cut the profile and cladding of the FPC.

For sample production, we usually use laser forming to save customers' cost and time, because if you update the new version, the mold will not be used, so we will use laser cutting machine to cut the shape and cover layer. However, the production lead time of laser cutting is longer than that of profile cutting tools, which is why we need to open molds for mass production. Generally, there are only four types of molds in our production process.

1. The Nor * * l mold is the most commonly used mold for cutting the covering layer and shape of most FPCs. The FPC appearance tolerance is 0.1mm, and the size tolerance of the finger can be controlled within 0.15mm.

2. Medium screen printing die: high precision, longer service life. The drilling time is about 200000 times. The punching effect is beautiful and smooth. The tolerance is 0.07mm. But the cost is very high, and the mold making time is longer than the ordinary mold.

3. Precision mold: the surface is very smooth, and it is usually used for flexible circuit boards with very strict tolerance. The tolerance of gold finger can be controlled within ± 0.05mm. But the cost will also be much higher than the ordinary mold.

4. Knife mold: usually used to cut simple flexible circuit boards, flexible circuit boards and adhesives with a length of more than 500mm. The tolerance is approximately ± 0.2mm.
